This week we’ve had a few questions - including from the media - asking whether Cranfields will take part in Black Friday. The answer is no. Here’s why.
We choose not to run Black Friday promotions because they don’t fit the way we work or what we sell. Our pieces are made by small suppliers and skilled craftspeople. Their work involves real time, real materials, and fair pay, so asking our makers to discount their time and expertise simply doesn’t sit with us.
Many of our lines are made in small batches and often sell out anyway. They’re valued for their quality, character and usefulness - not for being “a deal”.
Discounting can erode the meaning of a piece. When you’re choosing something for your home - or gifting something special - we want it to be considered and enjoyable. Take your time, visit us a few times, even take something home to see how it feels in your space. No countdown clocks, no pressure. Just a long-term choice you’ll feel good about.
Instead of focusing on quick sales, we’ll continue doing what we love: offering pieces that bring warmth and delight into everyday life. Many are locally made, often in limited runs, and chosen for their quality, character, and the stories they carry. These are things meant to be treasured and lived with, not hurried out the door.
Thank you for supporting thoughtful buying and small makers. It matters.
