After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2012, Sophie Divett decided to put her love of constructing small, fragile sculptural objects in to the creation of her jewellery line, Sophie Divett Jewellery. Originally from Christchurch, Sophie Divett now works from her home studio in Wellington, where her work often involves hand-carving individual pieces and creating one-off bespoke jewels.
Working in a range of materials such as bronze, resins, sterling silver and precious gems, Sophie Divett's aesthetic frequently draws upon the delicately flawed beauty of natural forms, and repetitive textures and patterns found in nature.
Sophie Divett is currently studying at Whitireia New Zealand toward a Bachelor of Applied Art (BAppA) specialising in Jewellery Design.
