Encased in solid pewter, this pretty little hourglass, hand-made by Italian craftsmen, complete with decorative engraving and special touchmarks within the pewter, is reminiscent of, and inspired by, classical design respectful to the age-old traditions of time measurement.
Throughout history, scientists, physicists, alchemists, engineers and mathematicians such as Euclide, a Greek mathematician popularly known as as the "Father of Geometry", have all used the hourglass to make sense of the world, in terms of both conventional and abstract time and space.
The hand-cast pewter frame both supports and protects the glass, and the soft pewter hue adds to the timeless beauty of watching sands of time trickle from top to bottom.
The running time is 5 minutes; perfect for formalising time for a turn on a board game, getting a toddler to finish a meal, or cooling off on the time-out chair or naughty step!
Dimensions: 3.5 x 9.5 x 7cm
Comes in an elegant presentation box.
